Fundacion HM research programs

This has allowed us to establish working programs led by research doctors, who raise the problems they encounter in clinical practice and, with the support of multi-disciplinary teams, help find solutions through basic research, the results of which benefit thousands of patients.

Clinical Trials

Since it was started up in 2008, the Unidad Central de Ensayos Clínicos (UCEC) (the Clinical Trials Unit) has opened more than 460 clinical trials. Last year, more than 500 patients took part in these studies. The UCEC is located at Hospital Universitario HM Sanchinarro.

Biological Sample Bank

The Biobank of the HM Hospitales Group is a non-profit unit intended to support research, governed by Law 14/2007 on Biomedical Research (LIB) and Royal Decree 1416/2011 (RD), establishing the basic requirements for authorization and operation of biobanks for biomedical research and for the management of human biological samples, and regulating the operation and organization of the National Registry of Biobanks for biomedical research.


Therapeutic Targets Laboratory

This laboratory uses cutting-edge technological platforms, including massive cancer sequencing, to adapt cancer patients' treatment to the molecular profile of the tumours. It's a reference center in personalized medicine and offers internationally renowned continuing education.
