The monitoring of patients who reach adulthood is continued by the HM CIOCC medical oncology service, making the transition to said department in a coordinated manner.

In children in whom it is not possible to achieve a cure, we continue their care at home or in the hospital until their death, maintaining continuous care for their family (Palliative Care Unit)

The main aim is to minimize hospital admissions by administering treatment whenever possible, on an outpatient basis from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., including weekends. Coordination of appointments for diagnostic tests and consultations with other specialists is also an aim in family care.

Query New patients, follow up consultations, hematology consultations as well as second opinion consultations are served from Monday to Friday.

* Hospitalization Patients who require hospital admission for treatment and / or management of acute and postoperative situations. During admissions there is 24-hour pediatric medical supervision.

All rooms are individual. There are 2 rooms with insulation and laminar flow for immunosuppressed patients and in bone marrow transplantation.

There are two oncology ICU rooms in which the patient is monitored 24 hours a day and their care is carried out in coordination with the Pediatric ICU.

There are two rooms in a day hospital for stays of several hours and discharge at the end of the day treatment. Nursing and supporting professionals work exclusively in the Unit after specific and continuous technical training. This fact improves care for the sick and their families. In addition to its assistance work, the nursing team carries out research work, participates in teaching and in continuing education courses and congresses of the specialty.
